Auroville guesthouses

Auroville is a township in Tamil Nadu, a short ride from Pondicherry. Visitors usually start at the Visitor Centre. The Matrimandir is the landmark most people come to see, and the roads around Kuilapalayam, Edayanchavadi and Bommayapalayam are where many guesthouses sit.

It suits people who want a quieter base than the seafront in Pondicherry: longer stays, gardens, and mornings that are not on a city promenade. The coast is generally more comfortable from November to February. Rain is more common in the north-east monsoon months.
