What we use

RoomRateIQ uses browser storage (localStorage), not third-party advertising cookies. A first-visit banner lets you accept all, keep essentials only, or pick categories. Search works either way.

Necessary

roomrateiq-consent stores your choice (necessary / functional / analytics) so we do not ask on every page. This record is required for the banner to work. You can clear it in your browser; we will ask again.

Functional

Off until you allow it. Then we may store roomrateiq-compare (up to four property ids) and roomrateiq-listing-id (last selected owner listing). These stay on your device and are not sent to other users. Turning functional off deletes those keys.

Analytics

We store the analytics toggle so we can honour it later. RoomRateIQ does not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or a cross-site profiler today. Switching it on does not start tracking.

What we do not set

No advertising cookies. No social-login cookies. No hidden fingerprint beyond what a normal browser already sends to load the page.

OTA click-out

Booking, Agoda, Expedia, Airbnb and hotel sites set their own cookies after you leave RoomRateIQ. Their policies apply. An affiliate ID in the URL, if installed, lets the partner attribute the visit.

How long

Consent and functional keys stay until you change the setting, clear site data, or we bump the consent version. There is no expiry cookie; it is local storage on this browser.
